“Everything you do seems to turn into some adventure. I’m not sure it’s safe for you to be alive!” – A good friend.
I’m a twentysomething writer and educator who works with people who have mental health problems and/or intellectual disabilities. At present I volunteer with a Palestinian educational charity in the West Bank, which is committed to non-violent resistance to occupation and the preservation of Palestine’s rich cultural heritage. I also eat a lot of tabouleh. Read all about it here.
Vicky I would love to pick up your Tel Aviv demo post on Mondoweiss.net. Can I do so?
Thanks, Phil
That’s fine.

Hi Vicky,
I found your blog when trying to find writers living locally with a focus on Palestine (finding those focused on Israel has been less of a problem). Anyway, I really liked your pieces – particularly “Time to face the music.” I actually find myself on the opposite side to you on the IPO, but you argued your points brilliantly and the comparison with the Sumud Choir was very clever.
I’m the Chief Editor of Our Man In (http://ourmaninproject.wordpress.com/) – a new online magazine, that we hope to one day get printed, focused on highlighting little known stories from people living in their local areas, backed up with media such as photo, video etc.
If you would be interested, I’d be really keen for you to write from Bethlehem on issues, stories and life where you are. You can see the kind of stories we’ve published so far – everything from economic war in the Sudans, dog welfare in Spain to energy and water conservation in Japan! Sadly we are all volunteers currently (though we hope to change this as we grow and move towards printed) and all we ask is for pieces of 750-1250 words once per month – there’s also no reason why you can’t use the piece on your blog as well!
Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Do email me back on info@thermopylae.org.uk.
Kind Regards,
Ben Lattimore
Our Man In
P.s Apologies for spamming your comment wall; I couldn’t find your email address!
Your blog is really quite excellent and the writing offers the kind of insight into Palestine that is rarely considered by mainstream media. Your recent piece “Through a child’s eyes” was particularly touching for me.
I can’t find your email on here, please drop me a quick message to discuss a possible position as a writer for a new magazine starting up in London.
Currently, we’re enlisting the interest of potential regular contributors as we approach launch in the coming months.
All the best,
Jack Laurenson – editor@autodefemag.com

I like you
Hi Vicky
I’m a citizen journo working here in the West Bank for Palestine News Network and am working on research about mental health in Palestine. I’m based in Beit Sahour and would love to be in touch to discuss your work. My email is liaminpalestine@gmail.com. Email me?
Vicky, your voice has incredible power, that power to move others to think deeper and try harder and hope longer … it’s uncanny and inspiring. I so identify with your thoughts and ideas although I’m three times your age, almost… thanks for being on the planet.
